"Songs we love to sing" is the debut project of the West Virginia Gospel Quartet.

It includes 10 songs from the traditional southern gospel music style with one instrumental of contemporary origin.

We desire that it be a blessing to each and every one who enjoys southern gospel music as much as we do.  

Stanley Herrod, Lead, has a great love for the Gospel message, both in word and song. At the age of 5, his love of singing helped develop him into the male quartet singer he is today. Following in his father and grandfathers footsteps, he started preaching at age 18 and now pastors Mt. Carmel Baptist church.


Michael Roach, Baritone, is a vocalist and musician with over 30 years of experience performing contemporary, sacred and southern gospel music. He currently serves as senior pastor at Trinity Bible Fellowship.


John Woodson, Tenor, grew up in central Kentucky where he learned to play the piano and sing. His clear tenor voice and piano specials are sure to thoroughly bless your heart and soul.



Sam Zicafoose, Bass, comes from a long line of quartet singers. His father Ross, an original member of the Happy Rhythm Boys, taught him shape note singing and instilled in him a lasting love for gospel music.



Kevin Tenney, Tenor, grew up in the Clarksburg area, listening to the Blue Ridge Quartet, Florida Sunshine Boys, Blackwood Brothers, Statler Brothers, and Oak Ridge Boys.  A musician at a young age, his vocal and instrumental experience has varied.  With over 40 years of singing and playing country, contemporary, jazz, blues, opera, barbershop and sacred music, he as come back to his love of gospel music, and the desire to spread his word through music.  Besides work, he runs the audio and video team at Wesley United Methodist Church, in Morgantown, WV.
